Brought to You by Paste Magazine and Wild Heaven Craft Beers!
Parktoberfest has become known for great regional music, and this year is shaping up to be fantastic. We’re proud to
announce our 2011 stage sponsors as Paste Magazine and
Wild Heaven Craft Beers, and we welcome to our stage
Nashville’s The Apache Relay and two Atlanta-based acts, Chris Talley & The Sawhorses and JK & The Lost Boys.
Headlining for Parktoberfest 2011 will be The
Apache Relay. Known for their smart mix of acoustic and electric, the foursome has developed a
fervent fanbase for their energetic shows, led by an often animated frontman, Michael Ford Jr. In April, The Apache
Relay released its second album, American Nomad, after high praise for their debut album 1988, which was released in
2009 and produced by Doug Williams, known for his work with the Avett Brothers.
The Apache Relay heralds indie rock but takes cues from across the musical spectrum, including the Beatles,
Springsteen, Motown, mountain music and anthemic rock. For their efforts on 1988, Paste Magazine wrote that it was
one of the "eight most auspicious musical debuts of 2009" and named the band in their "Best of What’s Next."

Parktoberfest also welcomes Atlanta-based Chris
Talley & The Sawhorses. A self-described "traveling troubadour," Talley grew up in the Georgia
lowcountry, reading stories of lost treasure, island ghosts and wild horses. Though music was Plan B (after becoming
a pirate fell through around 6th grade), Talley and his bandmates have dedicated themselves to lyrics-driven music
that strikes at the troubadour’s personal mission to "preserve Southern American culture." The latest release,
Marshland Melodies, is a 10-song LP that covers everything from love and heartbreak to spiritual epiphany and one
rowdy dog.

Parktoberfest also welcomes Atlanta-based JK & The
Lost Boys to our 2011 event. Still aglow from their spring release of first album Time is Trouble, JK &
The Lost Boys are touring the Southeast with their high energy and hook-packed tunes. The foursome from Georgia State
University formed in 2009 before members could even vote and have since found their place by incorporating influences from
a wide spectrum of genres, including everything from funk to bluegrass. About Time is Trouble, Atlanta Music Guide
wrote, "With such a promising debut record, JK & The Lost Boys are not lost at all, but know exactly what they're doing
and how to do it well."
